Conserving the Madidi-Manu Landscape

This consortium aims to conserve the landscape (approximately 50,000,000 hectares) of the Madidi National Park in Bolivia and Manu in Peru that contain unique ecosystems ranging from 150 meters above sea level to 6,000 meters above sea level.
The consortium builds capacity in national, regional and local government institutions to mitigate the impacts of deforestation and informal settlements. In addition, consortium members carry-out conservation studies and help local governments to develop management plans for municipal and regional conservation areas providing technical support for biodiversity and protected area management, sustainable livelihood options and consolidation of indigenous territories.
This consortium is led by Wildlife Conservation Society in cooperation with Fundacion Proteccion y Uso Sostenible del Medio Ambiente (PUMA) in Bolivia, Amazon Conservation Association (ACA), and Fondo de las Americas (FONDAM) in Peru.
