Areas of great biodiversity and scenic beauty in the Andean Amazon, such as areas around the Napo river en Ecuador, as well as Cusco, Peru, are part of an effort that seeks to help the tourism sector become more aware of how to better services in ways that benefit the sector, while at the same time benefiting local biodiversity and culture. With 9 signed cooperation agreements by local organizations between February and April of 2008, the Rainforest Alliance will offer training and technical assistance in best practices of tourism services that contribute to local development, as well as conservation and biodiversity. read more ... | |
